Day and night are each split into twelve hours — longer in summer, shorter in winter. Each has a ruling planet marked auspicious, inauspicious or neither. The current hour is highlighted.
Enter the place you will actually be, not where you were born — the hours are set by the sun where you stand. They shift every day, so check on the day itself rather than working from yesterday. Begin at the start of the hour rather than partway through it.
These are traditional practices about which scholars genuinely differ, and some hold parts of them to be impermissible. This site takes no position on that question and is not a substitute for a qualified scholar. Use your own judgement. Terms.
